Our “client-oriented” approach, seasoned with a constant focus on innovation and a never-ending mechanical and metallurgic improvement, has allowed us to develop a new alloy called “Alloy Z 2.0”, a new steel for the Caster shells and rolls, with which we have achieved our goal of reaching the best compromise between two opposite mechanical properties: hardness and breaking strength.
We assessed a new chemical composition, giving our steel a greater hardness, and at the same time a greater resistance to thermal breakage. The outcome was a greater durability and resistance to our shells, now more performing than before.
NEW Sheel ready for assembly
NEW Roll core ready for schelling
NEW Assembled caster roll
These components are subject to various quality control tests, among which we find, in particular, the hardness test on the entire surface of our rolls and shells, mechanical resistance and breakage tests, ultrasound tests on the entire volume of rolls and shells, all together with their specific certificates to attest quality.
In case our rolls are to be supplied to our customer already assembled with their shell, we implement the shrinking operations ourselves inside our warehouse, by vertically inserting the roll on its shell, previously heated in order to decrease the tight fit.
Officine Meccaniche Zanetti can supply any type of caster roll, according to the drawings provided by customers; the rolls can be with or without a stainless-steel layer in its core.
The rolls that we supply leave our workshop fully assembled, with premachined or grinded shells, ready to be inserted into the casting line.
GUARANTEED PRECISION AND QUALITY
